Let's Play Nice

We should just be nice to our enemies and they will be nice to us. This is the position of the Left in this country. John McCain, himself a victim of torture at the Hanoi Hilton during the Vietnam War, actually pretends to believe this. Note that the United States followed the Geneva Conventions regarding Prisoners of War during this conflict. Nevertheless, the Vietcong did not.

Why are the Left this delusional?

The “extremist minority” of the Religion of Peace that are slicing prisoners’ heads off on video tape are certainly not following the Geneva Conventions conduct regarding care for prisoners of war. The “insurgents” who are killing children standing in line to get candy from U.S. soldiers, via suicide bombers, are certainly not following the Geneva Convention laws regarding combat. The “armies” that hide, un-uniformed, amongst civilians, intentionally, are not following the Geneva Conventions.

This enemy doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the Geneva Conventions. There are no U.S. prisoners in Iraq. Our enemy does not take prisoners.

The Left is sympathizing with the enemy. The Left wants terrorists to have more rights. The Left actually wants us to bail out of Iraq. It doesn’t matter who wins in Iraq, as long as it isn’t the United States. Just listen to the Lefties on the TV shows. They have no idea how to win this war.

The goal of the Left is to make George Bush look bad. They do not care that the consequences may include losing a war that will kill our grandchildren.

The Islamists wish only for us to convert, become enslaved, or be killed. They lack only the means, not the will. This includes all Muslims. It is in their holy book.

The great people of the United States of America, the greatest nation in the world, must soon decide whether we fight the war that has been declared upon us, or if we put it off for our children to fight. Our enemy is clear in his intention. He will attack until the death. Will we leave our children with a nuclear armed Middle East? Is the goal of our hesitancy to leave our grandchildren the burden of fighting this war for survival?

We can defeat the most evil religion ever created by Man if we fight Islam today. The Left wants us to ignore it. The Left actually wants us to run away from the best front we have in this shadow war, Iraq. The Left acts as if it wants to lose.

If we wait until the Islamists, those who consider the United States as the “Great Satan”, are ready to fight back, then I hope to god that the Christians are right. Armageddon doesn’t sound pretty, but it sounds much better than Sharia Law. This is the law that will rule all infidels after the Muslims take over the world.

We can play nice and hope that they change their religion before they murder more of us than the average person can tolerate. We can play nice and hope that they don’t kill too many of us before we live out our lives as we hope to in our “perfect world”. We can play nice and hope to god that we’re all dead before they can unleash a flurry of nuclear rockets that will leave our grandchildren’s world a catastrophe one thousand times worse than September 11th.

Or we can beat them now while they are all bark and no bite. This is 1936. We are Western Europe. Let’s make a good decision. (Maybe better than last time.)

A Parable

There are 3 types of people in the world: Sheep, Border Collies and Wolves.

Sheep are the most common. They follow the herd, graze, drink, get sheared and do every other thing the herd does.

Border Collies protect the Sheep. They keep them together and they keep the Wolves at bay.

The Wolves feed on the Sheep. They distract the Border Collies in any way they can and feast on any stray Sheep. They will attack the Border Collies outright if they are hungry enough. The Wolves need the Sheep in order to survive. The Border Collies protect the Sheep because they think surviving in this world is better with Sheep in it. Keep in mind, it is the Wolves and not the Border Collies, that need the Sheep to survive.

The Sheep hate the Border Collies. The Border Collies remind them of the Wolves. They really hate the Wolves.

The Border Collies will occasionally bite the Sheep’s heal and cause it pain. The Sheep wish that the Border Collies would just go away. They wish this at least, until the Wolves arrive.

The anti-war crowd in this country are the Sheep. They wish no one would keep reminding them that there are Wolves out there that want to kill them.

The Border Collies of this country are barking at Iran. Will the Sheep listen?

Reason

“There are no contradictions in reality. Only incorrect premises”. - Ayn Rand.

Ayn Rand, author of Atlas Shrugged, believed in reason. She believed in it so much, she labeled it “Man’s tool of survival”. She obviously believed in Evolution and therefore concluded that Man would not have evolved if it weren’t for his ability to Reason.

I agree with her. Logic is my god. Almost more powerful than any god, it is also my referee. When I get in a discussion with someone who disagrees with me, I use logic to make my points. I don’t always expect, but I do always hope, that my “partner” in the discussion does the same. If someone can show me a mistake in my thinking, I am more than impressed, I’m grateful.

The universe literally has an infinite amount of knowledge. Even if the universe is finite, new discoveries are made every day. The base of knowledge is constantly expanding. It is impossible for anyone to know everything. I understand this and care to make certain that the things I believe, actually are true. If I base a belief on an incorrect premise, then my belief system is incorrect. This is where mistakes in life are made. There are no contradictions in life, only incorrect premises.

I search out incorrect premises. I call it Demon Hunting. It’s kind of fun. I take any thought that makes me uncomfortable for any reason, and try to find the reason. Logic is the only tool I have ever discovered that actually works.

I have changed my mind on a variety of beliefs. I used to be a Christian (trust me, I didn’t convert to Islam). I used to be against abortions. I used to be in favor of “peaceful people crossing borders freely” (as on the Libertarian quiz). I thought about all of these issues, argued for them with people who responded logically, and changed my mind on all of them. I think I hold a more consistent position now, with my core principles, than I did then. I feel great about “losing” these arguments. (Which I now “win”, at least according to how Referee Reason interprets the call).

I am greatly frustrated with the debate over the War. Not just Iraq, but everything related to the war. There is plenty of dissent, but very little logic. I think some issues that come up have merit for discussion. For example, the cost of the war. It is mentioned in every article that I have ever read regarding the war opposition, that is anywhere close to readable. (Some of the anti-war rants are unbearable). Obviously, the anti-war crowd is concerned about the cost of fighting the war. I agree that this topic merits discussion.

If the United States was spending $3 billion and losing soldiers every month in a war without a foreseeable end to take over Cameroon, I would be the most vocal critic. I would use my logic and smart-ass attitude to destroy (verbally, I’m not at jihad) any idiot that tried to justify that war. I would ask him what is the cost of Not fighting this war? The answer would be far less than $3 billion and 100 soldiers per month. What is the cost of not fighting the war in Iraq? Or the full War on Terror for that matter?

I don’t know the answer. It makes me uncomfortable because I don’t know the answer. My gut says that the cost would be great. September 11th cost a few billion dollars and 3000 lives. So far the war in Iraq has cost several billion dollars and less than 3000 lives. Is it worth it? I would really like a good debate.

Back to Ayn Rand’s point, if we don’t use reason to figure this out, it may be our survival at stake. Bumper sticker slogans and revenge politics are no substitute for reason. Our enemy is clear in his intention to kill us. He only lacks the means, not the will. Do we fiddle while Rome burns? Is Rome burning? Is this just a Zionist conspiracy to steal the oil from the Middle East? I welcome all debates on these topics. I have Demons to kill. They may be my own, or they may be in the head of another human who has chosen to use his own tool of survival. Either way, the world is better off with one less demon in it.

Ban Islam

The Bill of Rights bans making laws that prohibit the free exercise of religion. However, there are occasional violations of this Amendment to the Constitution. There are groups who believe that certain natural, yet controlled substances should be included in worship rituals. This practice is denied by the Federal Government under most circumstances. The Scientologists for decades paid taxes that other religious organizations never had to pay. Other than an occasional bomb threat to the IRS, the Scientologists never bothered anyone.

If chewing peyote or being in a fringe group can deny a group its religious protections under the Bill of Rights, what about a group that kills people?

The world has suffered more than 5000 attacks from Islamic terrorists since September 11th, 2001. It is not a coincidence that the terrorists are all Muslims. The Muslim’s goal is to rule the world. Our options are to convert, submit or die. No compromise.

The last 19 guys who highjacked 4 American planes and murdered 3000 civilians said they did it for their religion. The terrorists in Afghanistan, the insurgents in Iraq and the mullahs in Iran, all are fighting against the United States because of their religion: Islam.

Ban Islam.
