The McCain Line

How could John McCain lose to both George Bush (in the 2000 primaries) and Obama? McCain was to the left of Bush and the right of Obama. He lost to both.

Any Republican who gets too close to McCain philosophically enters the No Win Zone. It is the McCain Line. Cross it and lose.
